Crafting Connections
Crafting Connections is an in-person group that combines peer support and crafting in a positive and welcoming environment. The group is open to all 2SLGBTQ+ people who are 18+ and no crafting experience is required.
Participants are encouraged to bring a project they are already working on. Any project must be quiet, portable, and easy to clean up after.
If crafting is a new adventure, or if they would like to learn a new skill, some tools and materials are available. Facilitators can help people learn to knit, quilt/hand sew, start basic embroidery and cross-stitch, or tapestry weaving. There are also some supplies for colouring and drawing available.
Crafting Connections meets in the Common Room of the Community Wise Building, 223 12th Ave SW, Calgary. Meetings are held on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
Due to COVID, the group will be kept to a maximum of 30 participants and attendees must be double vaccinated and wear a mask while attending.
