End of the Rainbow Foundation

The Foundation hosts Calgary’s 2SLGBTQI+ Community Centre, offering non-clinical mental health support, such as community peer support groups; supports to settle in Calgary; supports to refugee claimants; and refugee sponsorships in the Calgary area.

Services emphasize peer support provided by 2SLGBTQI+ people given to 2SLGBTQI+ people to encourage positive mental health and well being oriented toward improving socio-economic conditions for all. All Foundation services encourage everyone in the public, new and long-time Canadians, to live well together. The Foundation is driven by a strength and resilience approach where all people have inherent dignity and value.

Our key services include: hosting The Calgary Rainbow Room, Calgary’s 2SLGBTQI+ Community Centre; hosting the Calgary 2SLGBTQI+ Refugee Centre; the Calgary 2SLGBTQI+ Private Sponsorship Program settling SOGIESC refugees from outside Canada; and hosting a variety of volunteer run support groups and mentor services.

We are dedicated to all people of any sexual orientation and gender identity (LGBTQ+, 2SLGBTQI+, or SOGIESC1), whether they are longtime citizens, or new Canadian refugees, or immigrants.

Services operate out of The Calgary Rainbow Room, Calgary’s 2SLGBTQI+ Community Centre, in collaboration with many other 2SLGBTQI+ projects.

Note 1. We use LGBTQ+, 2SLGBTQI+, and Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity & Expression and Sexual Characteristics (SOGIESC) interchangeably. All people have a sexual orientation and gender identity. When we use either term we include lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, queer, questioning, and plus+ as indicating: intersex, asexual, demisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, gender-neutral, genderqueer, pangender, men who have sex with men (MSM), women who have sex with women (WSW), and all the other sexual diversities that we are missing.
